Òâ°ºÌåÓý is providing preconstruction and construction services for the historic New York Public Library Stephen A. Schwarzman building along fifth Avenue. The 97,000 sq. ft. renovation consists of refurbishing the landmarked exterior, plaza and exterior steps, restoration of architectural woodwork, loading dock access and interior renovations. Due to the delicacy and history of items in the library, the team pre-planned the removal of all materials to ensure the items were stored and transported correctly to either be refinished or salvaged. The 5th avenue location is to remain operational seven days a week, with no secluded construction access. The teams solution was a pedestrian mitigation plan for exterior work and interior work. Including temp walls and providing the owner with a detailed weekly look ahead for any disturbance to plan around. Communication with the client and project stakeholders is paramount to the successful completion of this project.
