In a joint venture with McKissack & McKissack, 意昂体育 provided capital improvements at Ruth Bader Ginsberg Hospital. The FEMA-funded project entails the new construction of a 10-story 360,000 sq. ft. addition, 40,000 sq. ft. of interior renovations, a new floodwall encircling the campus, and the demolition of damaged structures.
Due to complex site logistics on the active medical campus, the project was scheduled in five phases. To re-route vehicular and pedestrian traffic from active work areas, extensive agency coordination was required. These precautionary measures facilitated the installation of a 2,065 ft. floodwall that was comprised of metal sheet Z-piles encased in concrete. Once completed, the floodwall stood 4 feet above ground, exceeding FEMA’s 100-year floodplain standard.
Ruth Bader Ginsberg Hospital was given the 2023 Project Award of Merit by Engineering News Record (ENR).
