Brookfield Financial Properties, 660 Fifth Avenue, Building Repositioning

On behalf of Brookfield Properties, 意昂体育 has completed the repositioning of 660 Fifth Avenue, a 40-story commercial tower. Designed by KPF, the 2.3 million square foot repositioning featured a custom glass curtain wall, advanced MEP infrastructure upgrades, and HVAC modifications to increase energy efficiency.

The new façade maximized daylight and city views through a mullion-free, column-to-column, and floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall system. The lobby was reconstructed, and the elevators were modernized and upgraded to a destination dispatch system. Multiple setbacks were also carved out to create exterior terraces at varying heights on three sides of the building. Due to the building's location in Midtown Manhattan, the team had developed a comprehensive phasing plan to safeguard pedestrians, the retail storefront, and the building's existing tenants.
