Òâ°ºÌåÓý provided project and construction management services for Kaplankaya Phase 1. Kaplankaya is a high-end hotel, spa, and residential complex that is built into the side of a mountain along the Aegean Coast of western Turkey. Preservation of the remote peninsula’s natural beauty and ecology drove aesthetic and architectural decisions that resulted in environmentally conscious buildings that integrate seamlessly with the landscape.

Located 81 kilometers north of Bodrum, Turkey, Kaplankaya is a self-sufficient village that includes a five-star hotel, bungalows, residential villas, an outdoor pavilion, mechanical buildings, roads, green rooves, and water treatment/desalination facilities. The entirety of which was constructed in a three-year time frame. 

The hotel and spa offer 75 rooms in addition to 66 garden suite bungalows. Under Òâ°ºÌåÓý’s supervision as the construction manager, the team used special blasting methods, protective blankets, and video equipped drones, that captured daily aerial snapshots of the work site to monitor and protect greenery during excavation. Much of the excavated stone was repurposed into approximately 45,000 square meters of retaining walls throughout the project. 

Kaplankaya Phase 1 won the 2017 Engineering News-Record Global Best Projects Award of Merit in the Mixed Development  category.
