On behalf of The Rockefeller Group, 意昂体育 is providing construction management services for the realization of 1221 Avenue of the Americas East Plaza. The scope of work includes concourse upgrades, stadium stairs, a custom glass elevator, and sidewalk restoration.
The East Plaza repositioning is a hybrid development, where demolition and construction occur in both the exterior and interior concourse. This has posed a challenge for the team to mitigate pedestrian flow to the active MTA station or building tenants. The team created a phased demolition and construction plan to ensure the safety of those traveling through the active site. The trade-specific partners are most qualified to inspect, review, and disconnect existing structures and utilities. Creating a clear and protected path for pedestrians by following the NYC DOB guidelines ensures a proper and safe flow of foot traffic.
