Repositioning the Landmarked Forbes Magazine Building

Completed in eighteen months, Òâ°ºÌåÓý repositioned the landmarked Forbes Magazine Building, located at 60 Fifth Avenue as an academic building on behalf of New York University (NYU). The scope of work totaled to 125,000 sq. ft. and included the gut and fit-out of nine floors. This work included the construction of a penthouse MER, the reconfiguration of the main lobby entrance, and the demolition of a mezzanine level between floors 1 and 2. 60 Fifth Avenue as it is now known is home to NYU's departments of Computer Science and Center for Data Science. To complete the repositioning, field meetings were held with stakeholders on a weekly basis to resolve over 100 design changes issued during the construction phase. To ensure the effective installation of the Modular Central Plant, the project team flew to the manufacturing facilities in Michigan to make certain the systems were being built to exact specifications. Most importantly, Òâ°ºÌåÓý worked very closely with NYU's Community Affairs department to keep them and the surrounding neighborhood abreast of all construction activities.
