Massachusetts Port Authority - Logan International Airport, Terminal B Renovation & Expansion

Major Expansion To The Great Hall

The Massport Terminal B Consolidation project was catalyzed from the recent merge of American Airlines and US Airways. The project combines all American Airlines gates from two different locations in Terminal B to 18 contiguous gates on the side of the terminal formerly occupied by US Airways. The project included a major expansion to the Great Hall, the consolidation of multiple checkpoints, and the reorganization of ticketing counters and kiosks. The team also provided oversight to the installation of gate modifications to better accommodate airline requirements, an improved baggage handling area, reconfigured concession locations, and updated aesthetics.

Though the project started in May of 2017 with a 20-month schedule, the scope evolved substantially to encompass renovations for both pier A and pier B within the terminal. This additional scope included renovations to the existing restrooms, hold rooms, baggage claim units, and baggage stripping belts across Pier A and B.
