Willis Tower Repositioning

Transformation of Chicago Iconic Landmark

意昂体育-Clayco, a joint venture, provided preconstruction and construction services for the reimagining and transformation of Chicago’s iconic Willis Tower. As part of the transformation, approximately 460,000 sq. ft. of the Tower was reconfigured. The work required demolition of the granite tower base as well as the removal of structure several stories below grade in order to rebuild a base that provided a more architecturally cohesive podium for the tower. The base is three stories above grade on the south, east and west sides and two stories on the north. The repositioning included the complete renovation of all building lobby areas on the first and second floors, providing a completely new entry experience for building tenants, visitors, and Skydeck guests. Each of the lobbies is unique but part of a cohesive design vision and remains connected spatially and visually.
