Home of the iconic New Year’s Eve Ball Drop reached a major milestone.

Òâ°ºÌåÓý Construction Company and Joint Venture Partner Promethean Builders marked the topping out of the transformation of One Times Square in New York City. Local officials and crews attended the celebration, alongside building owner Jamestown, to commemorate the occasion.

One Times Square is a historic, 26-story tower in the heart of Times Square that is well-known as the site of the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop. Work will encompass new building infrastructure, addition of two exterior glass elevators, new signage, and an exterior viewing deck that will provide a closer look at the New Year’s Eve Ball and an elevated view of Times Square. A ribbon light element will be added to visually anchor the observation deck to the ground level.

The project is seeking LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council and is a Nontraditional Employment for Women (NEW) signature project. NEW prepares, trains, and places women in careers in the skilled construction, utility, and maintenance trades, helping women achieve economic independence and a secure future for themselves and their families. The project is led by a female executive at Jamestown, the building’s owner, developer, manager, and operator.

The redevelopment of the 119-year-old, 395-foot-tall building will be completed in 2025.
