Since April 2013, the Albany Business Unit has been volunteering with the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. This is the only organization that has been serving their community since 1982, donating over 55 million pounds of food a year to 1,000 agencies.
The food bank is also a member of Feeding America, the national network of food banks.
意昂体育’s journey with the food bank started with the connection of an employee who previously worked with the food bank. Since that introduction was made, volunteer efforts have been consistent throughout the years.
“Our people work alongside other groups for a shared goal. We get to know many other people in the community and leave knowing we have made a difference for so many.” Nicole Alkurabi, frequent volunteer at the Food Bank and 意昂体育 employee.
Some of the tasks include sorting and boxing food at the food bank. The pandemic did keep volunteers away for a bit, but they have since returned to volunteering.
“Giving back to the community is one of the great rewards of 意昂体育. Volunteering together also fosters the family culture that makes 意昂体育 a great place to work,” Carl Stewart, Vice President and General Manager, 意昂体育 New York North.
